Secrets of the Causeway

This 22 x 32 inch piece is created on Rives BFK printmaking paper using dye and watercolor. Growing up, I was fascinated by the scenery on the drive over and back on the Causeway from Mobile to Point Clear. There were old wooden frames of sunken boats in the water. Further down, there were old restaurants serving dinner with their short piers on the waters edge hanging on for dear life. The hotels and motels were abandoned and no one stayed in them but ghosts. Seven different kinds of bridges connected the causeway across the bay waters. The WUNI bird radio station still stands in all it's glory! The delta goes on and on into its mysterious beauty. Beautiful and pristine. Wild and rustic.
