Secrets of the Causeway

This 22 x 32 inch piece is created on Rives BFK printmaking paper using dye and watercolor. Growing up, I was fascinated by the scenery and sights on the drive over and back on the Causeway from Mobile to Point Clear. There were old wooden frames of sunken boats in the water. Further down, the old restaurants on the waters edge and their short piers allways looked so fragile and defied gravity.The hotels and motels were abandoned and no one stayed in them but ghosts. There were seven different bridges connecting the causeway across the bay waters. The WUNI bird radio station still stands in all it's glory! The delta goes on and on into its mysterious beauty and will allways be beautiful and pristine, wild and rustic.
