My grandparents got a kit house from the war surplus as did their friends who purchased the land next to them. These are the two houses side by side with the beautiful old growth of Point Clear around them. Behind the house on the other side of the road is the fire watch tower for the volunteer fire department. There was nothing but a dirt road from Baileys Creek to this spot and on towards Hwy 1. This sweet little watercolor measures 6.5 x 7 inches. The original picture of this place is 2 x 3 inches and is in a light brown sepia tone from the early 1940s. The picture was taken from an airplane flying by from one of my people who was a pilot and had lived close by. If I could step back in time, I would embrace everyone, as this place will allways be in my heart.
